Skaters

The kids LOVE skating. Couldn't get them off the ice. I also couldn't get them to listen to any skating advice or to sit down on the seal so I could give them a ride and skate faster than a snails pace.

The kids are watching a Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon in Japanese in Subtitles.  Max is doing a pretty good job reading in his head while Scarlett thinks she can understand some of the words because Dora and Diego taught her.

Current obsession

Reading a Hello Kitty graphic novel first thing in the morning. She always really worried about someone stealing it in the night which she was sleeping so we had her pet dragon guard it. 

Fungee

Scarlett has been obsessed with this bungee cord for about a week now.  She calls it her fungee.  It's the first thing she asks for in the morning and she brings it everywhere. She's used it for hogtying daddy, walking me like a dog, saving me from the hot lava, and strapping herself in to stay safe to name a few.  Perry and I don't know what to make of this :) 

Family bike ride

Lovely bike ride with a picnic lunch and a stop to fix a flat.  

Not a princess

I will trap you because I love you.  Then I will put the big crystal on your head and you will die and explode. Then I will put 3 holes in your head and you will become a robber.

Today I helped with art in Max's first grade class. Before I left, I left a note that said "I love you" on his desk.  When I picked him up from school, he returned the note with his own messages added. That kid has my heart!

Indian Rock

Although Max has a fear of heights, he is a really great climber. We went to Indian Rock this weekend and he climbed it, and other little boulders, over and over again.  The kid couldn't get enough.

Island life

It's sure not Hawaii but I can't complain. We were planning on just playing in the sand but the kids immediately insisted on getting wet. Glad they are still young enough to swim in their underwear.
