Graduate

Big girl is going on to Kindergarten!  She told the group at graduation her favorite food is ramen and she wants to be a dancer when she grows up.

Jerry & Andi tie the knot!

We had a ton of fun at Jerry and Andi's wedding. The kids were mostly wonderful and danced up a storm even though we kept them up super late.  

Tooth Fairy

Max's first tooth!  Pretty sure he was the last in his class to loose one. Excited kid!  And we had a visit from the tooth fairy!

Reader

Max has been reading on his own before bed for quite some time. Lately he seems to really enjoy it and has shown excellent reading comprehension, telling me all the details of what he's read the next morning. Usually after school he decompresses with video games.  Yesterday, he went straight for this book that uncle Scott and aunt Jenn got him for his birthday.  Quiet reading!  Simply amazing.

Back at swimming

Since Scarlett doesn't have school on Tuesday, we decided to give swimming a go again. It's so nice and quiet when most kids are in school. She's super psyched to be back in the water.

Skaters

The kids LOVE skating. Couldn't get them off the ice. I also couldn't get them to listen to any skating advice or to sit down on the seal so I could give them a ride and skate faster than a snails pace.

Reading Television

The kids are watching a Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon in Japanese in Subtitles.  Max is doing a pretty good job reading in his head while Scarlett thinks she can understand some of the words because Dora and Diego taught her.

Current obsession

Reading a Hello Kitty graphic novel first thing in the morning. She always really worried about someone stealing it in the night which she was sleeping so we had her pet dragon guard it. 

Fungee

Scarlett has been obsessed with this bungee cord for about a week now.  She calls it her fungee.  It's the first thing she asks for in the morning and she brings it everywhere. She's used it for hogtying daddy, walking me like a dog, saving me from the hot lava, and strapping herself in to stay safe to name a few.  Perry and I don't know what to make of this :) 

Family bike ride

Lovely bike ride with a picnic lunch and a stop to fix a flat.  

Not a princess

I will trap you because I love you.  Then I will put the big crystal on your head and you will die and explode. Then I will put 3 holes in your head and you will become a robber.

Today I helped with art in Max's first grade class. Before I left, I left a note that said "I love you" on his desk.  When I picked him up from school, he returned the note with his own messages added. That kid has my heart!
